![]() It's critical in these times to fulfill our significant roles, as well as live authentic lives before God. Do you know how?
Being deceived is easy when constantly changing messages bombard us. It's possible to be distracted by the loudest, most insistent voices and get off the path we're on.
Yet, we can filter them out to hear only what's good and right for us. We are equipped to live above the noise, the arrogance and distortion.
More than ever, reading the Scriptures adjusts our focus and shifts our values from this hostile, desperate world that demands conformity and uses intimidation.
In one generation, Hezekiah, reversed the downward spiral and destructive trajectory his father, King Ahaz had Judah slide into. When Hezekiah became King he immediately began reforms and turned the nation back to true worship (II Chronicles 28, 29, 30:1-27).
No one thought this was possible, let alone at break-neck speed, "...do not be negligent now, for the Lord has chosen you to stand before Him, to minister to Him..."(29:11)
In short order, the temple was cleansed and King Hezekiah invited the nation of Israel to join Judah in observing the Passover, which had not happened since the days of King Solomon, generations earlier.
May we find the same result in our time We have the example in God's word... Our God is calling His people to follow Him, despite contrary attitudes and evidence in our culture. "And the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people...and their voice was heard and their prayer came to His holy dwelling place..." (30:20, 27)
