Alexandra and her mom wanted to send some home-grown vegetables with us, as a gesture of hospitality for our visit.
Beth and Dave visited with Alexandra and her family. Alexandra (pictured with her mom) is a special young lady who we've been able to help with some challenging physical problems. It was a joy to finally meet and spend some time with her.
Beth needed to cover her head so she could teach both men and women in the church. Oleg, our friend and director of New Hope International in Moldova, interpreted at the first of three seminars. The themes of her talks were as follows: "Work...Rest...Suffering, or How to accomplish God's will, God's way; Loss and hope; and Know Him, God's character in relation to His eternal purposes."
Before the Communist rule, Moldova was the second largest wine producer after France.
These youth came to worship with us. Their village had no water, and the men of the village had left to find work elsewhere.
Men, women, and youth came to learn so that they could make a difference.
Beth and Dave teach a three-day seminar on small group discipleship and inductive Bible study. These dear believers came from surrounding areas to patiently learn and participate.
Beth in the midst of some responsive young women. These delightful youth lived in the capital city of Chisinau. Many were training in professional occupations.
While in Moldova, getting to know life in a Communistic country and the precious believers there, I saw this small vignette. It is a picture of the Christian brothers and sisters there-- beautiful blossoms growing out of cement! That's right, conditions are not ideal; there is no rich life-sustaining soil in their environment, just a meager, harsh subsistence. "But God..." and His love and power to transform death into life.

Dave and Beth were given numerous opportunities to meet, pray with, and listen to widows, their children, and other family members affected by loss …
Yes, that's Ben Stein. What a generous and talented man. He spoke encouraging words to hundreds of military families at our banquet.
After our Rapid Responder Training session some of us hiked up in the heat and humidity (and bugs) to this glorious view.
A week of unbelievable blessing in teaching, music, and lives
