by His design will be posting weekly, now, to provide a nurturing time of comfort, exploration, and a safe place to process.
Mainly, though, it’s meant to promote an unhurried time alone with the Lord. You may find yourself in His presence as you park yourself at His feet, drinking in His wisdom and words of life.
It’s the path to peace, joy, and strength. Join in—in the midst of busyness, responsibilities, and tedium. Come apart for a 10-minute retreat, a respite along the way.
Encouragement for Weary Times
“What do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, ‘My way is hidden from the Lord, and the justice due me escapes the notice of my God’?
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth—does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to [one] who lacks might He increases power.
Though [even] youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles…run and not get tired…walk and not become weary” (Isaiah 40:27-31).
Think About It…
Part of a worship song called “Friend of God” reminds us that God desires to be our most treasured friend. The One who set the planets in space also made us for Himself. The song asks the question, “Who am I that You are mindful of me? That You hear me when I call? Is it true that You are thinking of me…”
During our daily routines, how often are we aware that God Almighty, the Lord of Glory wants to call me “friend?” How amazing.
Prayer of Application and Challenge:
Lord God, Father of all the living, let me believe in the course of my days, good and bad, heavy or light, that my way is not hidden from You. Help me know, though I tire and wear out, You never do. Show me new strength as I draw close to You and ask to be Your friend, too. I so need a friend like you. Amen.
Amen!
